Welcome to the Squeakbeast Sanctum!
Greetings, everyone! Welcome to my website! It's a centralized spot where you can check out my artwork, know info about upcomming commissions, and get to overall see a spot for all of my other creations and the like.
This spot is still very much a work-in-progress, but I'm hoping I can really make a place like this really pop, and have something nice and under control, something stable for myself to maintain without much trouble or stress.
For now, keep an eye out for any updates to the site, I'll be quite busy with establishing and setting things up in the coming days! Such as figuring out how to make galleries work here, making things look nice, and figuring out just what I truly wanna do for the place and how I wanna make it work in my usual activities. It'll be a long time adjusting to no longer having the likes of Cohost to actually be a welcoming social media to hang around in. I hope I can make this work, however.
What To Expect From Here (Currently)
I'm hoping that I can make this site work as a way to get updates and info on my life's activities and my artwork, concepts, lore, and the like. As well as being a spot for people to know about my commissions, one way or another. While I know I oughta be mindful on size limitations and take into account compression sizes and such, I'm hoping this can work as a supplemental, easy to access spot to see my artwork without much bells and whistles included with it. Just gotta figure out what and how I can get all of that working. Not gonna lie, it'll be some time before I can get the hang of working with HTML & CSS. ^^;
Gallery Functionality
I'm hoping to figure out and learn how to get a working gallery of my artwork functional here. Not only that, to do so in a way that feels intuitive enough for me to see myself doing so easily and concsistently. I know part of that is going to involve gaining more experience on working with coding HTML and CSS, but for now I'm essentially working blind and with visual cues and logic...and sometimes even that can only get me so far, haha. But if I can get into the swing of it, you can expect to see art coming its way here as I do them. Though, because of how I oughta be mindful of sizes, you'll only really expect to see standard quality images here. If you're a fan of my work and wanna be able to get the full stuff at original qualities (and project files), I'd consider checking out my Patreon for that. For the time being, tho, I wanna make a gallery of this place. Hopefully organized nicely as well, too!
Blogging
I'm considering also making this a spot for blogging some stuff and events going on in my life. Or if nothing else, to be an additional spot where I can post announcements or updates on my commissions, at least. It might be fun to also just share some idle thoughts I get here and there. Though, I may also consider going to other spots for that, like Dreamwidth. (I do hear there's a way to have it work together with Neocities, so the thoughts are there, hmm...)
Character Lore Wiki Functions
I come up with a LOT of stuff and lore and concepts for a lot of my artwork and writings and overall creations. It'd be neat to have a spot where I feel like I can gush and detail fun stuff and info about everyone in my roster. At the very least, I'd enjoy feeling able to write stuff down rather than have it cooped up in my head, haha.
Patience
I'll say again that it has been sort of a really long time since I worked with HTML. I don't think I've worked with being this indepth about it since...college I think, as part of a class. Or even since high school. I have a lot more respect for folks who stick by this and have stuck with it to this day. Every time I browse through Neocities and see the array and variety of websites that people have made with their own unique spins on it, I can help but appreciate their efforts that much more. I hope that, while I've been using templates primarily, that I'll eventually get to a point that I understand enough of this to really start having some fun with it in my own way. For now though, I hope you can mind the time it might take as I get my feet moving with this, haha.
